Terms of Use
These terms cover the SENSE Apple Watch application. The short version shown in the app must stay consistent with this page.
1. What SENSE is
SENSE is a measurement aid. It taps a surface, measures how the watch and the surrounding air respond, and estimates whether the material under your fingertips behaves like a solid structure or like a hollow cavity.
2. What SENSE is not
SENSE cannot detect electrical wiring, water pipes, gas lines, ducting, reinforcement or anything else that does not change the acoustic and vibrational response of the surface at the point you tap.
3. Your obligations
By using SENSE you agree that you will not cut, drill, nail, screw, demolish or otherwise commit to an irreversible action on the basis of a SENSE result alone. You will verify with an appropriate tool or a qualified professional first.
You are responsible for complying with any local rules about work on buildings you do not own.
4. Accuracy
Results depend on your watch model, the construction of the wall, how you tap, the ambient noise and the quality of your calibration.
SENSE abstains instead of guessing: when the signal quality, the model confidence or the distribution check fails, the app reports the signal as unclear and reports no conclusion. No accuracy figure is promised for a surface that has not been validated.
5. Purchases
SENSE Pro is a one time purchase that is not consumed and removes product limits. It does not change sensing accuracy.
Payment, restore and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. The app never sees or stores payment details.
6. Privacy
All processing happens on your watch. There is no account, no network permission and no third party analytics. Research contribution and raw audio retention are separate, explicit opt ins that both default to off, and the data stays in the app’s own storage until you delete it. See the Privacy page.
7. Liability
SENSE is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any damage to property, injury, loss of data, loss of profit or other loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Changes
These terms may change when the app changes. The version in the product repository is authoritative, and material changes are surfaced in the app’s release notes.
